🧠 Real Patient Case: ALS — improved lung function and recovery of swallowing reflexes

👤 Patient Profile

A 67-year-old man from Rieti, Italy, diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). His condition was progressing with impaired breathing, reduced limb movement, and muscle fasciculations. The patient required ventilatory support and had signs of functional decline in both motor and autonomic systems.

🧬 Clinical Approach

In July 2024, the patient underwent a personalised regenerative treatment programme at BioCells Medical. This included intrathecal and intranasal administration of autologous mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) and purified exosomes, developed in our certified laboratory.

🔁 Follow-up

The patient continues therapy under the supervision of his local neurologist and family. Improvements remain stable, and further treatments are being planned to maintain functional gains and slow progression.
