Clinical Case Observation: Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
Patient: Pier Giorgio | Italy
Patient Background
Pier Giorgio, a man from Italy, has been living with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) — a chronic respiratory condition associated with impaired oxygenation, persistent fatigue, cough, and excessive mucus production. Prior to treatment, his condition significantly limited physical activity and daily functioning.
At baseline, even moderate exertion such as climbing stairs required frequent pauses due to shortness of breath and exhaustion, reflecting reduced pulmonary efficiency and exercise tolerance.
Clinical Approach at BioCells Medical
After discovering BioCells Medical online and completing the necessary medical evaluations, Pier Giorgio participated in an online medical consultation, during which an individualised treatment strategy was discussed and agreed upon.
Given the patient’s condition and preference, the therapy was organised as a home-based medical deployment. A specialised BioCells Medical team travelled directly to the patient’s residence to deliver the treatment, ensuring continuity, comfort, and medical supervision.
The therapeutic protocol was performed over two consecutive days and was conducted under structured clinical oversight by an experienced medical team.
Post-Treatment Observations
Approximately four months after the treatment (performed on 24 September), the patient reported clear and meaningful functional improvements, including:
significantly improved exercise tolerance, with the ability to climb two flights of stairs without the need to stop,
noticeable improvement in oxygenation, resulting in reduced fatigue and improved breathing capacity during movement,
marked reduction in chronic cough and mucus production, which had previously been persistent symptoms.
These changes contributed to greater ease of movement and improved comfort in daily activities.
Follow-Up and Ongoing Monitoring
The patient remains under longitudinal observation following the intervention. The functional improvements have been sustained over the observed period, and the patient reports a continued sense of physical stability and satisfaction with the outcome.
Further monitoring is focused on maintaining respiratory function and overall well-being over time.
Clinical Context
This clinical case highlights how a personalised, home-based regenerative medicine approach, delivered by a specialised medical team, may support functional respiratory capacity and physical endurance in patients with COPD. At BioCells Medical, treatment strategies are developed individually and can be delivered either in-clinic or directly at the patient’s home, depending on clinical needs and circumstances.
